History
RedMax has a storied history that begins in 1910 with the Tokyo Gas Kogyo Company. Through a number of renames, mergers, and acquisitions, the company started producing agricultural and handheld 2-stroke engines in 1963. The company’s name was changed to Zenoah in 1973. Chainsaws came not long after in 1975, and a Deming Execution Prize for Total Quality Control was awarded in 1984. In 1987, RedMax/Zenoah America, Incorporated was established.
Since then, they’ve built a number of products that were the first in their class to be EPA/C.A.R.B. 2005 emission-compliant, including a trimmer in 2003 and a chainsaw in 2004.
